To provide an effective and efficient service to clients by obtaining the correct medical and setting of underwriting requirements telephonically, that need to be referred to a Senior Underwriter for sign-off. Facilitation of such requirements related to new and existing business.

Are you someone who can:

• Properly understand underwriting principles and risk, and apply them accurately and consistently
• Be exceptionally strong in administration and maintain a high level of accuracy in structured, detail-driven work
• Apply logic to information provided and communicate with brokers professionally and authoritatively to obtain complete and correct information
• Understand what excellent service looks like and deliver it consistently and reliably
• Operate with maturity, integrity, and trustworthiness
• Take ownership of key administrative responsibilities and confidently run the department when required
• Work completely independently, manage your workload responsibly, and understand what it means to work hard
• Handle complaints professionally and resolve them to a satisfactory outcome

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

• Have at least 3 years’ practical experience in short term insurance underwriting or a related insurance role.
• Have strong administrative experience, with proven attention to detail
• Have confidence in dealing with brokers professionally and confidently
• Have experience handling complaints and resolve them effectively
• Have a mature, reliable work ethic and the right attitude
