Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics / Supply Chain or similar.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a logistics / operations related environment.

  • Exposure in port & shipping logistics.

  • Understanding / experience in vessel chartering will be recommended.

Licenses Required

  • Valid Driver’s license.


Key Result Areas

1. Value Chain Optimisation

  • Map and analyse the full value chain of the WBSH’s value chain process: from the salt mine to customers, port and export.

  • Identify inefficiencies, cost drivers, savings potential, & integration opportunities across production, logistics, warehousing and commercial functions.

2. Logistics (Bulk, Break-Bulk, Containerized & Road Freight)

  • Apply expert knowledge of bulk and break-bulk logistics to identify operational bottlenecks and advise on corrective actions that improve vessel turnaround and cargo flow.

  • Demonstrate sound understanding of containerized shipment operations to assess delays, congestion, and inefficiencies, and recommend practical solutions to resolve delays and enhance throughput.

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain effective strategic working relationships with regulatory authorities, port authorities, government agencies, external contractors, customers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.

  • Represent WBSH in regulatory consultations, infrastructure negotiations and industry forums to influence outcomes aligned with business objectives.

4. Business Development & Marketing

  • Support the development of commercial strategies, pricing models, and customer value propositions.

  • Coordinate or participate in promotional activities or trade shows (local & international) and collaborate with marketing and sales teams to position WBSR competitively in domestic and export markets.

5. HSEQ

  • Comply to all company HSEQ regulations, policies, standards, housekeeping practices & procedures.

  • Adhere to the company’s quality management programme and objectives implemented according to statutory legislation and ISO standards.


Summary Of Position

  • Operational Breadth: Oversees and advises on the full logistics spectrum-bulk, break-bulk, containerized, and road freight-requiring technical fluency and real-time problem-solving across multiple modalities.

  • Stakeholder Influence: Engages with high-stakes external stakeholders impacting on operational continuity.

  • Strategic Integration: Aligns logistics execution with broader commercial, marketing, and stakeholder strategies-requiring systems thinking and cross-functional coordination.

  • Reputational Exposure: Represents WBSH in external forums, consultations, and negotiations, often serving as the face of the company in sensitive or high-impact engagements.

  • Problem Resolution via Relationships: Resolves bottlenecks not only through process redesign but through influence, credibility, and relational capital-a rare blend of technical and interpersonal mastery.
