MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To lead a team of Artisans for the effective and efficient civil maintenance of all equipment and systems (incl. Water, STP, Buildings) in area of responsibility to ensure continued production are achieved, at maximum availability and optimum cost, including adherence to job safety and good housekeeping standards.

Key Performance Areas:
- Coordinate a team to inspect / repair equipment, and compile and implement contingency plans to achieve maintenance / repair objectives.
- Review maintenance performance reports and equipment repair history and recommend and implement corrective action.
- Maintain high levels of equipment availability while controlling costs.
- Ensure that the maintenance programs are adhered to at all times.
- Perform failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Perform downtime analysis to ensure continuous improvements.
- Revise, submit and control annual working cost budgets in area of responsibility.
- Compile report for management to indicate section performance monthly.
- Initiate circuit modifications and equipment for improving efficiency to minimise recurring faults or breakdowns and advise Line for action to be taken.
- Ensure technical availability in area of responsibility to achieve optimal efficiencies of equipment and systems.
- Implement engineering standards to ensure minimal delays and to enhance circuits and equipment for improved efficiency.

Requirements
Requirements and experience:
- Grade 12 plus a recognised N3 Trade Certificate / Diploma with 7 years’ post trade working experience of which 3 years should be at supervisory level in Engineering maintenance environment OR BTech / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering with 3 years’ work experience.
- Mining environment experience will be an added advantage.
- Maintenance systems experience, e.g. SAP / On Key.
- Broad technical knowledge of mechanical equipment and maintenance practices and procedures.
- Technical knowledge of Asset / Engineering maintenance processes and practices in a mining or process plant environment.
- Experience in Project Management methods & techniques.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Mines and Works and Minerals ordinance regulations 20 & Regulations relating to Health and Safety of employees work.
- Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License.
