VACANCY: INVENTORY CONTROLLER

Role Purpose
The Inventory Controller is responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and efficient management of all warehouse inventory at the Kombat mine site.
The role ensures timely processing of stock movements in the ERP system, alignment of physical and system quantities, and maintenance of inventory levels that support operations while minimising working capital. Responsibilities also include inventory planning, replenishment, cycle counting, reporting, and supporting planned maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory Transaction Processing
- Process daily inventory receipts, issues, returns, and adjustments in the ERP system.
- Ensure all supporting documentation (GRNs, issue notes, delivery notes, etc.) is accurate and complete.
- Resolve transactional discrepancies with Procurement, Accounts, Warehouse, and other teams.
- Ensure stock movements are processed timeously and accurately.
2. Master Data & Inventory Integrity
- Maintain accurate inventory master data, including descriptions, units of measure, stock classes, and bin locations.
- Conduct routine checks to ensure physical and ERP quantities are aligned.
- Investigate and rectify inventory variances in collaboration with Supply Chain and Warehouse Supervisors.
- Support accurate inventory records and strong internal controls.
3. Inventory Replenishment & Purchase Orders
- Generate and execute replenishment purchase orders based on min/max levels, demand patterns, and operational needs.
- Track outstanding purchase orders and follow up with Procurement and suppliers.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure availability of critical spares, consumables, and operational inventory.
- Support replenishment planning to prevent shortages and overstocking.
4. Cycle Counting & Stock-Take Management
- Plan and execute weekly cycle counts.
- Analyse results, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead preparation and execution of the annual inventory count.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and company procedures.
5. Inventory Planning & Optimisation
- Support phase-in and phase-out of new and obsolete stock items.
- Assist with forecasting and maintaining accurate min/max and reorder levels.
- Participate in planning for maintenance shutdowns to ensure required spares are available.
- Assist in balancing stock availability, working capital, and cost efficiency.
- Contribute to achieving inventory availability and service level targets.
6. Reporting & KPI Management
- Compile and submit weekly and monthly inventory KPI reports.
- Report on stock accuracy, availability, ageing, working capital usage, and obsolete/slow-moving stock.
- Highlight inventory risks, variances, and improvement opportunities.
- Provide accurate inventory data for operational and management decision-making.
7. Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with Warehouse, Procurement, Maintenance, and operational teams to optimise inventory flows.
- Recommend improvements to warehouse layout, storage methods, and stock handling processes.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, inventory control procedures, and audit requirements.
- Promote continuous improvement in accuracy, reporting, stock availability, and warehouse efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / NSSCO
- Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Management, or related field
- 3–5 years’ experience in warehousing or inventory control (mining or heavy industrial preferred)
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Pronto, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Good understanding of inventory control, stock accuracy, cycle counting, and reconciliation processes
Added Advantage
- Experience in mining supply chain operations
- Knowledge of maintenance planning processes
- Understanding of OEM parts, engineering consumables, and MRO inventory
- Experience supporting planned maintenance shutdowns
- Experience with inventory KPI reporting and stock optimisation

Working Conditions
- Position is based permanently at the Kombat mine site
- Regular interaction with warehouses, laydown areas, and operational departments
- Exposure to typical mining and warehousing environments
- Overtime may be required during shutdowns, annual counts, or urgent operational needs
