Laundry Supervisor

Department: Site Management Reporting To: Site Manager Location: Mining Operations – Kombat, Namibia Employment Type: Permanent / Full‑Time Closing Date: 30 June 2026 @ 7:00PM

Position Purpose

The Laundry Supervisor manages and coordinates the site laundry facility and personnel. The role ensures efficient collection, processing, quality control, distribution, and recordkeeping of employee laundry services while maintaining hygiene, safety, and customer service standards.

Key Accountabilities

Laundry Operations Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily laundry activities.
  • Ensure efficient collection, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distribution.
  • Monitor workflow and allocate tasks.
  • Meet turnaround times and service standards.
  • Coordinate schedules to support operational requirements.

Supervision and Team Leadership

  • Supervise Laundry Attendants and assign duties.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance.
  • Provide training and coaching.
  • Promote teamwork and professional conduct.
  • Conduct performance discussions and evaluations.

Quality Control

  • Ensure laundry items meet required standards.
  • Inspect completed laundry.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints.
  • Prevent damage or loss of clothing and linen.
  • Implement corrective actions.

Inventory and Stock Management

  • Monitor and control consumables (detergents, cleaning agents, packaging).
  • Maintain stock records and request replenishment.
  • Conduct stock counts and reconciliations.
  • Minimize wastage and promote cost‑effective use.

Equipment Management

  • Monitor condition and operation of equipment.
  • Report breakdowns and maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate repairs and servicing.
  • Ensure safe and correct equipment use.
  • Assist with planning future requirements.

Administration and Reporting

  • Maintain records and service logs.
  • Track volumes and performance.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
  • Maintain attendance and schedules.
  • Record and investigate incidents and complaints.

Health, Safety and Hygiene

  • Ensure compliance with standards.
  • Promote safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Conduct housekeeping inspections.
  • Ensure PPE use.
  • Maintain a clean, safe facility.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).

Experience

  • 3+ years in laundry, housekeeping, hospitality, camp services, or facility operations.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Mining camps, lodges, hotels, hospitals experience advantageous.

Technical Skills
