We are looking for a motivated Cover Drilling Supervisor to join our Technical Services team.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To supervise underground cover drilling activities to ensure drilling programmes are completed safely, efficiently and according to required standards, while coordinating drilling crews and equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise underground cover drilling activities according to approved programmes.
- Monitor drilling progress, productivity and equipment utilisation.
- Ensure drilling targets and specifications are achieved.
- Allocate tasks and supervise Cover Drill Operators and Drilling Assistants.
- Ensure drilling equipment and tools are correctly used and maintained.
- Ensure accurate recording of drilling metres, progress and downtime.
- Coordinate drilling activities with Mine Operations and relevant technical teams.
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and safe work procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 10 with relevant drilling, mining or technical training.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in cover drilling, preferably underground.
- Previous supervisory experience in drilling or mining.
- Experience with underground cover drilling equipment and drilling programmes.
- Relevant drilling qualification will be advantageous.
