We are looking for a motivated Diamond Drill Supervisor to join our Geology / Technical Services team.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To supervise underground diamond drilling activities to ensure drilling programmes are completed safely, efficiently and according to required standards, while coordinating drilling crews, equipment and performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise underground diamond drilling activities according to approved programmes.
• Monitor drilling progress, productivity, equipment utilisation and core recovery.
• Allocate work and supervise Diamond Drill Operators, Drilling Assistants and Pump Assistants.
• Ensure drilling equipment, pumps, tools and related equipment are properly used and maintained.
• Ensure accurate recording of drilling metres, progress, downtime and core recovery.
• Coordinate drilling activities with Geology, Survey and Mine Operations.
• Promote compliance with HSE requirements and safe work practices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 10 with relevant drilling, mining or technical training.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in diamond drilling, preferably underground.
• Previous supervisory experience in drilling or mining.
• Experience with underground and surface diamond drilling equipment and drilling programmes.
• Experience supervising drilling crews and activities.
• Relevant drilling qualification or certification will be advantageous.
