Job Description
Overall Purpose of Position
The Plant Operator – Crushing and Milling is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of crushing, screening, conveying, and milling equipment. The role conducts routine inspections, monitors equipment condition and throughput, and performs basic operational checks to support reliable plant performance.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate crushing, screening, conveying, and milling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct routine plant and equipment inspections during operations.
- Identify equipment abnormalities and report or escalate defects promptly.
- Perform basic operational checks and monitor process conditions affecting throughput.
- Support safe start-up, shutdown, and normal operating procedures.
- Maintain good housekeeping and comply with all plant safety requirements.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Grade 12 and relevant operator training or experience.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience operating crushing, screening, conveying, and milling equipment.
- Ability to conduct equipment inspections and identify abnormal operating conditions.
- Ability to perform basic operational checks and maintain safe and efficient throughput.
- Strong commitment to safe plant operation and housekeeping standards.
