Job Description
Overall Purpose of Position
The Plant Operator – Filtration is responsible for operating and monitoring concentrate or tailings filtration equipment to achieve safe, consistent, and efficient filtration performance. The role monitors moisture content, pressure, cycle times, pumps, conveyors, and filter performance while maintaining high housekeeping and safety standards.
Main Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to the following:
- Operate concentrate or tailings filtration equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor moisture content, operating pressure, cycle times, and overall filter performance.
- Monitor associated pumps, conveyors, and material transfer systems.
- Identify process or equipment abnormalities and report or respond as required.
- Conduct routine operating checks and maintain accurate operating observations.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and comply with plant safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Grade 12 and relevant process-plant experience.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience operating concentrate or tailings filtration equipment.
- Experience monitoring moisture content, pressure, cycle times, pumps, conveyors, and filter performance.
- Ability to identify abnormal operating conditions and perform routine operational checks.
- Strong commitment to housekeeping and safety standards.
