Overall Purpose of Position
The Plant Operator – Flotation is responsible for the safe and effective operation of flotation circuits to support stable metallurgical performance. The role monitors process conditions, reagent addition, pulp density, pH, froth characteristics, and sampling requirements while responding to operational changes and maintaining safe work practices.

Main Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to the following:
– Operate and monitor flotation equipment and associated process systems.
– Monitor reagent handling and addition in accordance with operating requirements.
– Monitor pulp density, pH, froth conditions, and other key flotation parameters.
– Conduct or support routine sampling and monitor flotation performance.
– Identify process deviations or equipment abnormalities and take appropriate action.
– Maintain safe operating practices and good housekeeping in flotation areas.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements
– Grade 12 plus mineral processing experience or training.
– Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in flotation operations, preferably copper flotation.
– Knowledge of reagent handling, pulp density, and pH control.
– Knowledge of froth management, sampling, and monitoring flotation performance.
– Strong commitment to safe plant operation and housekeeping standards.
