Underground Construction Supervisor – New Horizon Copper

We are looking for a motivated Underground Construction Supervisor to join our mining / underground construction team.

Purpose of the Job

To supervise underground civil and concrete construction activities and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards and according to approved drawings, specifications and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise underground civil and concrete construction activities according to approved plans and specifications.
• Coordinate concrete works, including formwork, reinforcement, placement, finishing and related civil works.
• Plan daily work, allocate labour and resources and monitor progress against schedules.
• Interpret construction drawings and specifications and inspect workmanship and materials.
• Supervise employees and contractors to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Ensure required materials, tools and equipment are available and properly used.
• Maintain accurate records of progress, materials, delays and work completed.
• Promote compliance with HSE requirements, PPE rules and safe housekeeping standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma in Civil Engineering, Civil Construction or similar.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil construction, with strong construction and concrete works experience.
• Underground experience will be an advantage.
• Strong practical experience in formwork, reinforcement, concrete placement and construction supervision.
• Experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment will be advantageous.
• Ability to read drawings, manage contractors, control quality and work under pressure.
• Valid driver’s licence.
