🌍 Overview of Namibia Water Corporation

Namibia Water Corporation Ltd (NamWater) was officially registered on 9 December 1997 as a commercial entity mandated to supply bulk water to industries, municipalities, and the Directorate of Rural Water Supply under the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry. The Namibian Government is the sole shareholder, represented by the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry. NamWater’s vision is “Water for All, Forever”, reflecting its commitment to sustainable water management in one of the driest countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

NamWater operates dams, reservoirs, and purification plants across Namibia, ensuring water is distributed efficiently and sustainably. It also implements projects under the Namibia Water Sector Support Program (NWSSP), supported by the African Development Bank, to improve access to safe drinking water in both urban and rural areas. The corporation emphasizes accountability, performance-driven operations, and environmental responsibility, making it a cornerstone of Namibia’s infrastructure and development.
