Job Description
Primary Purpose of the Position: Responsible for the electrical maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance of all equipment across the Namib Mills (Pty) Ltd, Otavi Depot. Ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all electrical systems. Key Responsibilities: Perform electrical and electronic maintenance for the entire Otavi Depot premises. Fault finding and rectification on all relevant equipment. Provide standby service on a 24-hour, 7-days-a-week basis. Compile, acquire, maintain, and update electrical/electronic documentation. Organize and control spare parts and materials for electrical use. Maintain archives of hardware and software documentation. Define and update maintenance standards, systems, and documentation for all departments. Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies in line with legal and company requirements. Always ensure use of clean and appropriate PPE. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area and workbench after completing jobs. Attend to callouts timeously. Provide prompt feedback/reporting after any call-out. Carry out additional tasks as assigned, ensuring alignment with company standards and procedures. Supervise and guide assistants; implement “On the Job Training” as per company policy. Requirements: Grade 12 with Recognised Trade Test Certificate in Electrical General or equivalent recognised artisan qualification. 3 – 5 years’ relevant post-qualification experience. Proven experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, or installation of high-voltage equipment (1kV and above). Knowledge and hands-on experience with PLC and SCADA systems (mandatory). Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and Windows-based systems. Namibian citizen.
