Job Summary
The Elegant Collection is looking for a hands-on, reliable and experienced Assistant Lodge Manager that will be focusing on Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff and outside contractors.
- Understand Health & Safety procedures.
- Control stock, including maintenance tools, spare parts, equipment and materials.
- Obtain quotations, monitor maintenance expenses and assist with budgeting and cost control.
- Assist with general lodge operations when required.
- Maintain good guest relations and communication skills.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Be efficient literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Work independently, prioritise tasks and perform well under pressure.
- Be hands-on and willing to assist with physical maintenance work when required.
- Have sober and honest habits.
- Have a valid driver’s licence; a PDP would be an advantage.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in lodge/hospitality maintenance or a similar position.
- Strong general maintenance and technical skills.
- Experience with plumbing, electrical work, building repairs and general property maintenance.
- Knowledge of water systems, pumps, solar systems and generators would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge and practical experience in vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical repairs.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections, identify mechanical problems and arrange repairs or servicing when required.
- Responsible for monitoring vehicle service schedules, tyres, batteries and general vehicle condition.
- Experience with 4×4 vehicles and diesel engines would be an advantage.
- Ability to identify maintenance problems and carry out or coordinate repairs efficiently.
- Experience with preventative maintenance planning for buildings, equipment and vehicles.
