Job Description

Consolidated Copper Corp is a mining, development, and exploration company, focusing on copper mining in Namibia. The company is seeking to employ suitably qualified candidates for the following position. The position is based at our Northern Operations, Ongopolo Mining Ltd, Tschudi Mine, Tsumeb.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 (NSSCO) or Grade 11 (Revised curriculum) with an E symbol or better in Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry
  • 1-year relevant experience.
  • Valid code B driver’s license.
  • Proficient in written and verbal English.
  • On-the-job training is provided prior to commencement of work.
  • Physically fit to work in a mining environment.

  • Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures meticulously, perform tasks accurately, and maintain precision in operations.
  • Capabilities to learn quickly, adapt to changing situations, and efficiently handle multiple tasks or responsibilities.
  • Understanding and adherence to safety guidelines and procedures in the workplace to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong work ethics and commitment to safety
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing working conditions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a multicultural team
  • Strong attention to details and accuracy

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of comminution, heap leach, solvent extraction, and electrowinning processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic mineral processing and hydrometallurgical principles
  • Understanding of plant equipment operation and functionality (pumps, screens, conveyors, valves, control systems, etc.).
  • Knowledge of process monitoring, sampling techniques, and interpreting plant data or trends to identify deviations.
  • Understanding of safety, health, environmental, and housekeeping standards applicable to processing plant operations.
  • Basic knowledge of chemical handling, reagent dosing, and the impact of process parameters on product quality and recovery.
