Africa Venture Partner Projects is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to support accurate costing, budgeting, and financial analysis to enable sound business decisions and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

– Prepare and maintain accurate cost and management accounting records.
– Determine product, service, and job costs using appropriate costing methods.
– Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, and management reports.
– Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
– Monitor costs and investigate variances, providing explanations and recommendations.
– Support pricing decisions by providing accurate costing information.
– Maintain and improve cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
– Work closely with operational departments to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiencies.
– Ensure accuracy and consistency of data in the general ledger and inventory records.
– Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
– Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Requirements

– Bachelor’s degree in Cost Accounting, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
– Professional qualification (CA(NAM), ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) – highly advantageous.
– Minimum 2 years’ experience in cost accounting or a similar role.
– Strong knowledge of costing principles, techniques, and systems.
– Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel advanced skills essential).
– Experience with accounting software/ERP systems will be an advantage.
– High attention to detail and accuracy.
– Strong communication and reporting skills.
– Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
