About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Driver to provide safe, punctual, and compliant transportation services for personnel and materials in support of daily operational requirements. The role is responsible for conducting mandatory vehicle inspections, monitoring service intervals, completing pre-use checks, and ensuring vehicle movements are carried out in line with company procedures, road rules, passenger safety requirements, and fleet standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Operation
- Perform all required pre-start and shutdown inspections, complete checklists, and immediately report any defects or malfunctions.
- Ensure safe operation of the vehicle at all times by following road and site traffic rules, passenger safety requirements, and transport regulations.
- Monitor vehicle service schedules and perform basic checks, including oil, water, tyres, and lights, to maintain roadworthiness.
- Control passenger loads to ensure the number of passengers does not exceed the authorised capacity of the vehicle.
- Transport Services and Workforce Support
- Transport employees to and from the worksite according to approved schedules and designated routes.
- Pick up employees for approved work-related callouts and respond to ad hoc business travel requests when required.
- Perform runner duties required on-site, as well as act as mail messenger and office runner.
- Act as an on-site escort for visitors, ensuring visitors are accompanied and comply with site access, safety, and movement requirements.
- Assist as a general worker for construction support activities as required when not assigned to driving duties.
- Vehicle Housekeeping, Coordination and Operational Support
- Adapt to operational changes and meet changing transport demands promptly.
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly vehicle conditions and support operational transport coordination as required.
Job Specifications
- Grade 12 or current NSSCO with 20 points over 5 subjects.
- Valid Code C driver’s licence.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP), required and renewed annually for driving trucks and transporting goods and passengers.
- 3–5 years’ proven heavy-duty driving and/or passenger transportation driving experience.
- Clean driving record.
- Good knowledge of road safety, site traffic rules, vehicle inspections, and basic vehicle checks.
- Reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong commitment to safety, compliance, passenger care, and company procedures.
