Job Summary

Grootfontein Municipality as an equal opportunity employer is looking for suitable qualified graduates to join our progressive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the workshop foreman mechanic in maintaining and repairing council vehicles such as bakkes, tipper trucks, compactors, fire engines, graders, and dozers.
  • Diagnosing mechanical problems and troubleshooting vehicles.
  • Keeping an accurate log of all work performed.
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks including lubrication, oil changes, and cleaning of machine parts to ensure optimal operation.
  • Maintaining workshop cleanliness by organizing tools, equipment, and work areas in compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • A Grade 10 certificate.
  • National Vocational Certificate in Diesel Mechanics Level 3/N3; or National Vocational Certificate in Automotive Mechatronics Level 3/N3; or a Level 3/N3 certificate acquired from 2022 to date.
  • Six (6) months experience in a vehicle workshop (in-training).
  • A valid Namibian Code B Driver’s License.
  • A valid Namibian Code C1 Driver’s License is an added advantage.
  • Must be a Namibian citizen.

Salary

N$3,500 per month
