Job Overview

Rosh Pinah Zinc, a leading mining company, is seeking a skilled Laboratory Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our operations.

Your key areas of responsibility

• Record and interpret analytical results, following strict analytical methodology to ensure accurate, precise assays.
• Coordinate laboratory equipment, instruments and reagents, including monitoring performance, first-line troubleshooting and scheduled maintenance.
• Ensure operational continuity of the laboratory operations, instruments, and the maintenance thereof.
• Maintain and improve the Laboratory Quality Management System in line with ISO 17025, including documentation and periodic audits.
• Manage stock control of chemicals, spare parts and equipment, and the preparation of reagents, calibration standards and titrants.
• Provide leadership to Analysts and Laboratory Operators by managing staff availability, overtime, leave and training.
• Manage the Laboratory’s OPEX budget and drive productivity and cost-saving initiatives.
• Manage Laboratory operations and staff, promoting teamwork and maintaining performance and quality standards.
• Uphold Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards, lead by example, and ensure the team understands its HSE accountabilities.

Ideally, you will have

• A BSc (Hons) Chemistry, or National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ analytical and conceptual technical laboratory experience and 2 years laboratory supervisory experience.
• Code B driver’s license.
• Valid Police Clearance Certificate (not older than 6 months).
