Job Summary

We, BC STONE PRODUCTS (NAMIBIA) (PTY) LTD, an equal opportunity employer, have a vacancy for a LIFTING EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN in WALVIS BAY

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Maintain and repair heavy duty lifting equipment, forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Conduct preventative and planned maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Ensure machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently
  • Conduct inspections and load tests to identify potential equipment failures
  • Assist with planned shutdowns and major maintenance projects
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
  • Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety procedures
  • Work closely with the production team to minimize equipment downtime
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties related to the position
  • Monitoring machine spare parts and place orders when necessary.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 /Senior Secondary Certificate
  • Recognized Millwright Trade Certificate
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing, industrial or mining environment
  • Experience with heavy duty lifting equipment, forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, maintain and service machines and equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventative and planned maintenance
  • Good fault-finding and strong problem-solving skills
  • Computer literate
  • Valid Code BE driver’s license or higher will be an advantage
  • Health & Safety experience/certification will be an advantage
  • Ability to work at heights and in a physically demanding environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and standby when required
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A good communicator with strong attention to detail
  • Must be a Namibian citizen
