Job Summary

An excellent career opportunity exists for interested and qualified candidates to apply for the position of Load Controller at Namib Mills (Pty) Ltd in Windhoek.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for vehicles.
  • Ensure sufficient handling of cargo and loading of trucks.
  • Packing products according to set standards.
  • Responsible for picking and loading of products to be dispatched.
  • Ensure the correct handling of picking slips.
  • Load products according to delivery schedule.
  • Ensure the area is cleaned at all times by sweeping, brushing and washing of facilities and machines.
  • Report faults and defects to the Manager / Supervisor.
  • Carry out ad hoc tasks as given by the Manager/Supervisor.
  • Ensure that products are secured on trucks.
  • Ensure that the driver and co-driver are present when the truck is loaded.
  • Ensure that the product loaded corresponds with that of the picking slip as per the dispatch controller.
  • Ensure that the truck is loaded in such a way that the product is secure and without damage.
  • Ensure that the product is loaded onto pallets to minimise the possibility of product damage in transit.
  • Ensure that no product with limited shelf life is loaded; refer to dispatch policy.
  • Ensure that the load is loaded in such a way that the axel load is within the prescribed limits.
  • Receive out of stocks from Dispatch Controller and ensure actual out of stock is correct.
  • Ensure availability for month-end stock counts.
  • Attend to Safety, neatness and cleanliness of dispatch area at all times.
  • Carry out any reasonable instructions as required from Supervisor and management.
  • Adhere to Company Policies and Procedures.

Requirements

  • Grade 10 (NQF2) with 5 years’ experience in a Distribution environment. Or Grade 12 (NQF4) with 2 years’ experience in a Distribution environment.
  • Proficient in English (Written & Spoken).
  • Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, overtime and public holidays.
  • Namibian citizen.
