Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate Load & Haul crews, including Truck and Loader Operators.
- Allocate equipment and tasks according to operational requirements and operator competencies.
- Monitor loading and hauling cycles to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
- Ensure adherence to production plans, operational procedures and production targets.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance requirements with relevant teams.
- Track production performance, including tonnage hauled, cycle times and equipment downtime.
- Lead, motivate and develop team members and address operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ standards, pre-shift inspections and incident-reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate (20 point minimum)
- Mining or related qualification will be an added advantage
- Valid Code BE Driver’s Licence
- Blasting Certificate will be an added advantage
- Minimum 5 years’ mining experience in surface mining loading and hauling operations
- Experience at mining supervisory level
- Strong knowledge of loading and hauling operations and mining processes
- Knowledge of SHE practices, procedures and operational requirements
- Good understanding of mining equipment and machine operating procedures
- Strong leadership, organisational and team coordination skills
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities
- Strong safety awareness, accountability and ability to work effectively within a diverse team
