Job Description

Purpose of the Job

To supervise loading and hauling operations, ensuring the safe and efficient loading, transportation and delivery of ore and other material to designated storage and dump areas while supporting production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate Load & Haul crews, including Truck and Loader Operators.
• Allocate equipment and tasks according to operational requirements and operator competencies.
• Monitor loading and hauling cycles to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
• Ensure adherence to production plans, operational procedures and production targets.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance requirements with relevant teams.
• Track production performance, including tonnage hauled, cycle times and equipment downtime.
• Lead, motivate and develop team members and address operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with SHEQ standards, pre-shift inspections and incident-reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate (20 point minimum)
• Mining or related qualification will be an added advantage
• Valid Code BE Driver’s Licence
• Blasting Certificate will be an added advantage
• Minimum 5 years’ mining experience in surface mining loading and hauling operations
• Experience at mining supervisory level
• Strong knowledge of loading and hauling operations and mining processes
• Knowledge of SHE practices, procedures and operational requirements
• Good understanding of mining equipment and machine operating procedures
• Strong leadership, organisational and team coordination skills
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities
• Strong safety awareness, accountability and ability to work effectively within a diverse team
