Overall Purpose of Position
The Production Shift Supervisor is responsible for coordinating plant shift activities and ensuring production crews operate safely, efficiently, and in line with operational requirements. The role monitors plant performance, addresses operational issues, and provides frontline supervision to support consistent production delivery.
Main Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to the following:
- Coordinate day-to-day shift activities and allocate work to production crews.
- Supervise plant personnel and ensure safe and efficient execution of operational tasks.
- Monitor production performance and escalate or address deviations from operating targets.
- Enforce plant safety standards, procedures, and operational controls.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate corrective actions with relevant teams.
- Maintain clear shift communication and operational handovers.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Diploma or relevant technical qualification in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Mining, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4–6 years’ plant experience, including supervisory responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate shift activities and manage production crews.
- Experience monitoring production performance and troubleshooting operational issues.
- Strong commitment to safety standards and safe plant operations.
