We are looking for a motivated Pump Assistant to join our Technical Services team.

Purpose of the Job

To provide operational support for pumping activities associated with underground diamond drilling, including pump setup, operation support, hose and equipment handling, housekeeping and routine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up and operating drilling water and pumping systems.
• Assist with positioning pumps, hoses and related equipment.
• Monitor pumping activities and report problems to the Supervisor or Operator.
• Assist with pre-start checks and basic cleaning of pumps and related equipment.
• Handle hoses, pipes, fittings and pumping equipment safely.
• Support Diamond Drill Operators and the drilling team as required.
• Maintain good housekeeping around pumps and drilling areas.
• Comply with HSE requirements and report hazards, leaks and unsafe conditions.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 8 or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year’s experience in underground mining, drilling, pumping or related activities.
• Relevant mining, drilling or equipment training will be advantageous.
• Experience with pumps, hoses or underground drilling support will be advantageous.
• Ability to work safely in a physically demanding underground environment.
