SBS Plant Operator – New Horizon Copper

NEW HORIZON COPPER (PTY) LTD is committed to operating safely, responsibly and efficiently while developing Namibia’s copper resources to create long-term value for our people, communities and the country. We are looking for a motivated SBS Plant Operator to join our processing team.

Purpose of the Job

To safely and efficiently operate and monitor the SBS plant, support production requirements, identify operational issues and provide senior operational guidance to plant operators.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the SBS plant in line with approved procedures and production requirements.
• Monitor plant performance, operating parameters, production output and equipment condition.
• Carry out plant start-up, shutdown and isolation procedures safely and correctly.
• Identify operational problems, perform basic troubleshooting and escalate equipment faults.
• Provide guidance to plant operators and assistants and support effective shift handovers.
• Maintain accurate production, operational, inspection and shift records.
• Supervise ROM activities and coordinate contractors to support safe, uninterrupted material handling.
• Promote compliance with HSE requirements, PPE rules and safe housekeeping standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12. An artisan qualification will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in plant operations, including at least 2 years in a Senior Operator role.
• Proven experience in plant operation, monitoring, troubleshooting and equipment care.
• Ability to lead operators, allocate tasks and support safe, efficient plant operations.
• Knowledge of start-up, shutdown, isolation, production records and HSE requirements.
• Valid driver’s licence where required.
