Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of the Company’s financial reporting, accounting processes, statutory compliance and financial controls within a dynamic mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly financial accounting and reporting process.
  • Prepare and review general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage sales, revenue, invoicing and debtor accounting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS.
  • Manage fixed assets, Asset Under Construction (AUC) and capitalisation processes.
  • Assist with VAT, tax and other statutory compliance requirements.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
  • Coordinate external audit requirements and financial statement preparation.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with Company policies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and ERP utilisation.
  • Provide financial support and guidance to operational and commercial teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
  • Professional accounting qualification or progress towards CA(Nam), CIMA, ACCA or equivalent will be advantageous.
  • 6 years’ relevant accounting experience, preferably within mining, construction, engineering or another project-based environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
  • Experience in fixed assets and revenue accounting.
  • Knowledge of Namibian tax and statutory requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP experience; Sage Intacct experience will be advantageous.
