Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of the Company’s financial reporting, accounting processes, statutory compliance and financial controls within a dynamic mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly financial accounting and reporting process.
- Prepare and review general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage sales, revenue, invoicing and debtor accounting.
- Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS.
- Manage fixed assets, Asset Under Construction (AUC) and capitalisation processes.
- Assist with VAT, tax and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
- Coordinate external audit requirements and financial statement preparation.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with Company policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and ERP utilisation.
- Provide financial support and guidance to operational and commercial teams.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
- Professional accounting qualification or progress towards CA(Nam), CIMA, ACCA or equivalent will be advantageous.
- 6 years’ relevant accounting experience, preferably within mining, construction, engineering or another project-based environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
- Experience in fixed assets and revenue accounting.
- Knowledge of Namibian tax and statutory requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP experience; Sage Intacct experience will be advantageous.
