Job Summary

Rudy Agritactic Machines is seeking a highly creative, experienced and technically outstanding Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of innovative agricultural machinery and agro-processing equipment. We are looking for an engineer who can turn ideas into practical, reliable and commercially viable machines, from concept and 3D design through prototyping, testing and production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new agricultural machinery and agro-processing equipment.
• Improve existing machines for performance, reliability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Produce detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, assemblies and bills of materials.
• Perform engineering calculations and select appropriate materials, components and drive systems.
• Lead prototyping, testing, troubleshooting and production implementation.
• Work closely with fabrication and manufacturing teams.
• Drive product innovation and continuous engineering improvement.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of proven experience specifically in agricultural machinery and equipment design.
• Demonstrable experience designing machines that have progressed to prototype, production or commercial use.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Siemens NX or equivalent CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, fabrication, manufacturing processes and design for manufacture.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Exceptional creativity, practical problem-solving skills and the ability to develop original engineering solutions.
• Traceable professional references and a portfolio of completed design projects.
• Willingness to work on-site in Windhoek.
