Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
– Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and attend to breakdowns as required.
– Conduct running inspections on equipment.
– Perform installation, fault-finding and repairs on mechanical equipment and systems.
– Perform planned task observations as requested by the supervisor.
– Report all deviations encountered (mechanical or others) and ensure that all critical/emergency deviations are reported immediately to the Supervisor.
– Provide technical information to ensure the maintenance management system (PM’s, critical spares, parts lists etc) is up to date.
– Maintain tools, equipment, material, and machinery as per required standard.
– Identify, plan work, spares, and other resources as required timely.
– Provide assistance with project work as and when required.
– Maintain housekeeping standards within the area of responsibility.

Requirements
– Trade Certificate (Fitter & Turner) – Level 3.
– 5 years post apprenticeship experience in a mining/heavy industry.
– Maintenance, repairs and installation on crushers, conveyors, screens, tanks, pumps, agitators, and thickeners.
– Troubleshooting and repairs on hydraulic systems.
– Maintenance and operations of boiler systems.
– Repair and installation of Atlas Copco air compressor systems will be an added advantage.
– Valid Code B Driver’s License.
