About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Site Civil Engineer to provide day-to-day construction support for the Tumas Project, with a focus on civil works, concrete works, QA/QC, contractor support, inspections, technical queries, site administration, and close-out documentation. The role will support safe and efficient site execution by working closely with the Lead Field Engineer Construction, contractors, and project teams while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and site housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities

• Mining Construction
• Perform routine QA/QC checks on contractor civil works, including concrete-related activities.
• Assist with hold point and Inspection and Test Plan releases for the next phase of work.
• Conduct routine inspections of formwork, reinforcement, concrete quality, installed works, temporary plant, and site conditions.
• Collect, capture, and maintain operational data, inspection records, reports, and site documentation.
• Manage and maintain the contractors’ technical query register and support timely resolution of site technical queries.
• Escalate technical queries that cannot be resolved on site to the appropriate engineering team.
• Report defects, damages, delays, and maintenance requirements to the Lead Field Engineer Construction for follow-up.
• Assist with civil engineering input for minor maintenance and site upkeep, including plumbing, fencing, building, road sign, and safety signage activities.
• Verify as-built or red-line markups, support document control, and contribute to final close-out documentation at the end of the works.

Job Specifications

• Civil Engineering Degree or Diploma, with 7-10 years site construction experience
• Valid Code B driver’s licence.
• Previous experience in mining, construction, civil works, or industrial environments is a requirement.
• Civil engineering knowledge across concrete works, including formwork, reinforcement, concrete quality, inspections, and related QA/QC requirements.
• Experience with concrete-related inspections and construction quality records.
• Ability to read, verify, and support as-built or red-line markups and close-out documentation.
• Computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, databases, and document control.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors, site teams, supervisors, and engineering support teams.
• Strong commitment to safety, compliance, housekeeping, and quality standards in a construction or mining environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage priorities, and work under pressure in a fast-paced site environment.
• Self-motivated, reliable, trustworthy, and physically fit, with flexibility to work site-based hours when required.
