Key Responsibilities

  • Establishes service by studying system requirements, ordering and gathering components and parts, completing installations and performing acceptance tests on equipment such as X-ray machines, ultrasound machines, CT scanners and MRI machines, as well as infusion pumps, ventilators, defibrillators, nebulisers, dialysis and anaesthesia machines, amongst others
  • Serves existing accounts by analyzing work orders and planning daily activities
  • Investigates complaints with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques and recommending system improvements
  • Ensures proper repair and servicing of equipment and devices
  • Provides user training on equipment to stakeholders/users
  • Checks equipment coming in and going out of the warehouse and workshop
  • Prepares quotes for customers on servicing of equipment
  • Carries out detailed evaluation of workshop equipment to ensure that they are in good working condition
  • Ensures all installed equipment is operational by following manufacturer recommendations for: troubleshooting breakdowns, maintenance of supplies (spare parts and accessories), performing preventive maintenance, performing repairs
  • Ensures maximum safety of all by observing all safety measures, and reports conditions that are likely to endanger safety
  • Adheres to legislation, policies and procedures in terms of safe working conditions
  • Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
  • Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities reading professional publications and attending training as required by the company
  • Promotes and sells products using convincing arguments to existing and prospective customers
  • Identifies prospects and contacts these and other accounts as assigned
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, monthly and annual territory analyses plus follow-up communication and adherence to goals
  • Develops and implements special sales activities to reduce stock
  • Achieves agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule

Requirements

  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA), or ability to register
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a hospital or clinical environment (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of patient monitoring and life support equipment, medical imaging systems and critical care equipment
  • Regional knowledge and ability to form and maintain relationships with clinical staff, with a strong emphasis on professionalism and accountability during interactions
  • Precision, promotes and sells products using convincing arguments to existing and prospective customers by demonstrating product usage in hospital and theatre settings
  • Ability to quickly develop in-depth knowledge about applicable products and markets, with the ability to read technical manuals and schematics
  • Networking and IT basic knowledge for connected medical devices
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Sales experience an added advantage
  • Flexibility to work late and unscheduled hours, with travel to various regions within the country required (expected overall travel 50%-60% of normal working hours)
