Company Introduction

Unitrans Mining has exciting opportunities for experienced Front End Loader Operators to join its operation at the Tsoaxaub Metals Processing Plant in Swakopmund.

The successful candidates will be responsible for safe and efficient loading and material handling activities within a processing plant environment.

Role Purpose

The FEL Operator — Loading at Tsoaxaub Metals Processing Plant in Swakopmund will be responsible for safely operating front end loader equipment to load, move, stockpile, and handle materials at the processing plant.

The role requires strong safety awareness, accurate loading practices, machine care, and compliance with plant operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

1. FEL Loading Operations

• Safely operate front end loader equipment in a processing plant environment.
• Load materials onto trucks, hoppers, stockpiles, or designated areas as required.
• Move and manage materials according to operational instructions.
• Support efficient loading and material flow at the plant.

2. Inspections & Reporting

• Conduct daily pre-start and machine inspections.
• Report defects, damages, tyre issues, hydraulic leaks, or unsafe conditions timeously.
• Maintain accurate inspection sheets, logbooks, and operational records.

3. Safety & Compliance

• Adhere strictly to company policies, procedures, safety regulations, and plant rules.
• Operate safely around plant equipment, trucks, pedestrians, stockpiles, and loading areas.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and plant management.

4. Housekeeping & Equipment Care

• Maintain good housekeeping of machinery and loading areas.
• Keep equipment clean, safe, and ready for operation.
• Assist in keeping the plant loading areas organised and free of hazards.

5. Operational Support

• Assist with ad hoc operational responsibilities as required.
• Support plant production and loading teams.
• Be willing to work shifts, weekends, overtime, and public holidays when required.

Minimum Requirements

• Namibian ID
• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4
• Valid driver’s license (where applicable)
• Valid competency certificate for Front End Loader operations
• Minimum of 2–3 years’ proven FEL operating experience (preferably in a processing plant, mining, loading, or material handling environment)
• Contactable references

• Sober habits
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, overtime, and public holidays

• Strong safety awareness around mobile and fixed plant equipment
• Good recordkeeping and reporting skills
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a production environment
