Company Introduction

Unitrans Mining has exciting opportunities for experienced Komatsu D85 Dozer Operators to join its operation at Hope & Gorob Mine in Namibia.

The successful candidates will be responsible for safe and efficient dozer operations in support of mining, road maintenance, stockpile management, and general earthmoving activities.

Role Purpose

The Komatsu D85 Dozer Operator will be responsible for operating dozer equipment to push, level, spread, and manage materials safely and efficiently.

The role requires strong machine control, safety awareness, equipment care, and compliance with operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Dozer Operation

• Safely operate the Komatsu D85 Dozer
• Push, spread, level, and shape materials as required
• Assist with stockpile management, road preparation, dump area maintenance, and general earthmoving activities
• Operate equipment efficiently and according to site instructions

2. Inspections & Reporting

• Conduct daily pre-start and machine inspections
• Report machine defects, track damage, leaks, or unsafe conditions timeously
• Complete inspection sheets and other operational records accurately

3. Safety & Compliance

• Adhere strictly to company policies, procedures, safety regulations, and site rules
• Operate safely around other mobile equipment and active work areas
• Follow instructions from supervisors and site management

4. Housekeeping & Equipment Care

• Maintain good housekeeping of machinery and the work area
• Keep equipment clean, safe, and ready for operation
• Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately

5. Operational Support

• Assist with ad hoc operational duties as required
• Support production, road maintenance, and earthmoving teams
• Be willing to work shifts, weekends, overtime, and public holidays when required

Minimum Requirements

• Namibian ID
• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4
• Valid driver’s license, where applicable
• Valid competency certificate for Komatsu D85 Dozer or relevant dozer equipment
• Minimum of 2–3 years’ proven dozer operating experience in a mining or earthmoving environment
• Contactable references
• Must be medically fit
• Must have sober habits
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, overtime, and public holidays

• Strong dozer operating skills
• Good understanding of mining and earthmoving safety procedures
• Ability to work accurately in confined or active operational areas
• Reliable, responsible, and safety conscious
• Good communication and teamwork skills
