Tsoaxaub Metals (Pty) Ltd is a copper and gold project company with access to established infrastructure in Namibia. Based in Swakopmund, the company is seeking suitably qualified individuals to apply for the position of Plant Metallurgist.

Overall Purpose of Position

The Plant Metallurgist is responsible for optimising metallurgical performance across the processing plant to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production. The incumbent provides technical leadership in metallurgical processes, monitors plant performance, identifies improvement opportunities, and supports operational teams to achieve production, recovery, quality, and cost targets.

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee plant performance, key process parameters, and recovery, including troubleshooting and process optimization.
• Lead metallurgical test work, trials, and site-specific improvement projects to enhance efficiency and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Provide expert metallurgical guidance and technical support to operational teams.
• Maintain accurate metallurgical records and prepare performance reports by analyzing production and recovery trends.
• Mentor and develop metallurgical staff through targeted training and knowledge sharing.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in mineral processing operations, with at least 3 years in a senior metallurgical role.
• Experience in a mining or mineral processing environment.
• Strong understanding of plant processes and metallurgical accounting.
• Proficiency in data analysis and process optimization.
• Valid Code B Driver’s License.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Namibian citizenship.
